Vivianne’s manipulation is written so well. As fun as it is to call Toivo dense or whatever for not figuring things out. The only reason we know he’s being lied to is because we already know the truth. She seems very trustworthy.
I agree, she seems so innocent, and because we know shes not but Tovio doesn’t we just have to suffer while he gets fooled, its this building feeling of dread. Very good writing! 🙂

I’m more confused how he never recognized Serule’s assistant lol. Or hadn’t they met at all after she became Serule’s assistant? I don’t remember.
I re-read that chapter and it seems I was mistaken. He didn’t meet her while she posed as Serule’s assistant.
